A tiny Island located in the Gulf of Guinea. It’s an adventure in itself getting to Sao Tome and Principe. We’ve set up a unique trip to without question our favourite place on earth.

Encompassing the very nature of this unique set of Islands, we take a 3 day jungle trek around Sao Tome. Not only that, but we make sure to stop off at local remote villages, hidden waterfalls and rock pools. Furthermore, you will have plenty of time to connect with the local villagers.

This exploratory tour of Sao Tome and Principe is a perfect mix of discovery, jungle trekking and relaxation.

In addition to this package, you also have the opportunity to do some ocean fishing with the local fishermen.

  1. Day1 São Tomé

    Arrival in Sao Tome. Transfer and accommodation at hotel Omali Sao Tome.

  2. Day 2 São Tomé

    Depart from Omali very early in the morning heading north to Rebordelo. From here we will start our trek towards Pico de Sao Tome. The climbing and descend takes approximately 8 hours and then we camp at Estação Sousa (1500m).

    As the light starts to extinguish the jungle comes to life and you will connect with nature on another level. Relax, take it in and have a few drinks while our guide prepares your meal.

  3. Day 3 São Tomé

    We get up early to continue the trek to Lagoa Amelia at Obo national park.

    We will follow the trail, most of it descending (8 hours trek).

    At Bombaim plantation our luggage awaits us and a traditional meal is served.

  4. Day 4 Sao Tome

    We complete the crossing of the island, descending all the way to the East Coast in about 9 hours towards Sao Joao de Angolares plantation.

    There, a dry change of clothes await for us and we will then continue our journey by car to Sao Tome.

    Accommodation at hotel Omali Sao Tome.

  5. Day 5 Príncipe

    After breakfast we transfer to the airport and fly to Príncipe.

    Transfer from the airport to Bom Bom where you can relax and explore the un touched beaches.

  6. Day 6 Príncipe

    After breakfast we take a full day to explore Principe Island in 4×4 WD.

    Lunch included. Accommodation at Bom Bom resort. Dinner included.

  7. Day 7 Príncipe

    Breakfast. Free day at Bom Bom Resort. Accommodation and dinner at the resort

  8. Day 8 Príncipe

    Breakfast. Walk along Papagaio river with pic nic lunch included. Accommodation at Sunday plantation colonial house. Dinner included

    Breakfast. Free day to explore Sunday plantation which still works. Accommodation at Sunday plantation colonial house. Dinner included

    Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and flight Principe to Sao Tome. Transfer to Omali and day use room. Transfer to the airport

Accommodation is a variety of high end luxury hotels with first rate camping in the jungle itself!

We take our own kit and equipment including hammocks, poncho’s and machete’s etc … all that you need to make yourself comfortable deep in the jungle.

We also happen to be incredible bar builders, so you can ensure that there will be the opportunity to have a couple of drinks whilst relaxing and enjoying the experience of listening to the sounds of the jungle.

It can be a mission in itself getting to Sao Tome and Principe, however there are a couple of direct flights per week from Lisbon and also routes through Luanda and Cape Verde.

Visas

British nationals don’t need a visa to visit Sao Tome and Principe for up to 15 days. For longer stays, you should get a visa before you travel as problems can occur if you arrive without the necessary documentation. You can apply online. Your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. No additional period of validity beyond this is required.
